Sam and I have been completely spoiled from the beginning to have such willing babysitters. I think my parents would rather babysit Emma than do just about anything else and we have certainly taken advantage of that many times! Let's just say, we're pretty grateful to have our babysitters back after five weeks! (How do people do this whole kid thing when they don't live near family??) At this point, I'm sure some of you are laughing at us thinking "Five weeks?? We haven't had a date in five MONTHS?" You're right. It's like I said, we have been completely spoiled! (and I am perfectly okay with that.)
Don't worry mom and dad, we missed you for more than just your babysitting. Not being able to see or really even talk on the phone with my parents for 5 weeks!?! I always thought of myself as pretty independent but I'll just go ahead and tell you that there were more than a few times that I was like "I want my mom and dad!!!" and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm pretty grateful to have them both home. Just because I'm "all grown up" doesn't mean I don't need my mom and dad.
The weekend before their homecoming, Emma and I had a blast decorating their house in anticipation of their arrival. I originally thought it'd be fun to make them a little "Welcome Home! poster but,I got just a tiny bit carried away with it (as tends to be my routine...)

On Monday, when we FINALLY got to see them, we got to hear all the details of the trip (or what of the 5 weeks could be condensed into a few hours worth of telling anyway) and see lots of great pictures! We were also all showered with gifts! Especially little miss Emma! She has some pretty amazing grandparents. How many toddlers get to wear an authentic Scottish kilt?!? Emma's Scottish ancestors would be proud. Please enjoy the millions of pictures I took below...

The bear, while also from Scotland, was actually given to her by my brother Beau from his trip there last year. Her name is Isla. |

The little Scottie dog was brought back from Scotland and given to Emma by my parents-she LOVES it. |

These little puzzle characters were purchased for Emma in London by my parents! |
Welcome Home mom and dad! We missed you!!! Thanks for all of the great gifts! We're glad you had fun but, mostly we're so glad you're back safe and sound.
